As the dashing Quinton McCord on "Guiding Light", actor Michael Tylo has been setting viewers' hearts aflutter ever since he joined the cast.
Acting always seemed to be Tylo's destiny, and the handsome 6-foot tall, blond, blue-eyed thespian studied his craft in Ireland with Sir Tyrone Guthrie, and took classes in theatrical fencing with Istuan Danosi from the National Threatre of Hungary in Budapest.
Early on, Michael enrolled at Wayne State University where he earned a master's degree in theater. While at Wayne State, he also became involved with the local Hillberry Repertory Theatre. Michael has appeared in regional theater productions including The Theatre in Detroit. More recently, Michael appeared at the Long Wharf Theatre and off-Broadway in a revival of "The Winslow Boy" at the Roundabout. Michael's talents also include directing and producing - two things he hopes to do more in the future.
Michael is married to Deborah Eckols, who recently did a guest stint on "GL" in flashback scenes as Rebeca (Mona) Cartwright. Michael and Deborah reside in Manhattan.
